Why does Everybody Need Phoenix Rooter Plumbing?

Phoenix Rooter Plumbing
Phoenix Rooter Plumbing
Phoenix rooter plumbing has been clearing out obstructions from drains in Phoenix for nearly a hundred years. Plumbers can feed a steel cable into a drain pipe.  Blades attached to the cable spin and shred obstacles or catch them and let the plumber pull them out.  The tool was originally designed to clear tree roots from pipes, a process that used to be long and labor-intensive.

Rooters are the easiest way to clear a drain.  Before these devices were widely used, homeowners generally had to dig up their yard and search by hand for obstructions in their pipes. Now they can send in a long metal cable to tear the block to pieces.  Rooter plumbing can be used to clear anything from a piece of food that got stuck in your kitchen sink to the strong roots of a tree that have burrowed into a pipe in your yard.

There are many tools plumbers can use in different situations.  A small hand rooter is suitable for most kitchen and house pipes but will damage things like a toilet, which has its own special rooter to protect from damage.  A more powerful electric rooter is often used for bigger pipes with stronger blocks.  But these are so powerful that they can damage plastic and even copper pipes if they aren't used correctly.

Phoenix rooter plumbing tools should be used carefully if you want to try to do it on your own, but in the hands of a professional the rooter is a versatile and useful tool that can handle most plumbing blocks.  In Phoenix, rooter plumbing isn’t usually to clear tree roots from pipes, but it is a great way to take care of most of the blockages that can and will happen in your plumbing system.

Your Phoenix Plumbing Bathroom Lacks Florida's Toilet Frogs

As if we Phoenicians need another reason to prefer Arizona over Florida check this out, toilet frogs invading. Our Phoenix plumbing bathrooms lack Florida's toilet frogs it seems. Florida has long had stories of reptiles crawling into toilets; now amphibians are taking their turn on the throne. Almost 100% of the time the frogs come through the roof, via plumbing vent pipe, climbing in to look for food or shelter then not being able to get out.

Floridians are told that if they've had only one frog get into their home through the plumbing vent pipe, it's best to do nothing and hope it doesn't occur again, because covering the pipe can lead to larger problems. However, if frog visitations become frequent, they can cover the top of the vent pipe with something like chicken wire, just to keep amphibians from falling in.

Everybody knows that Arizona is better than Florida. Florida even has bigger cockroaches than our famous Phoenix plumbing bathroom Sunnyslope sewer roaches. Now Florida has frogs in toilets; as if the Zika virus wasn't enough. Our thoughts are with you, Miami. See you, wouldn't want to be you.

Although the pipes and drains of a plumbing system are created for strength and long life, they still need regular maintenance to keep them from breaking down too rapidly and needing expensive repairs and replacements. Licensed plumbers can provide great help in keeping your home's plumbing in the finest shape possible through annual maintenance visits.

Some of the Items Checked by your Professional Plumber are:

  • Bathroom fixtures - the plumbing maintenance will check for leaks, clog, cracks, corrosion and any mineral scaling.
  • Toilets – all of the home's toilets will be checked for cracks, loose fittings and any other problems. Adjustments will be made during the maintenance.
  • Water heater – Your plumber will check for sediment build-up, mineral scale and operational problems and make adjustments as needed.
  • Main water and sewer lines – Your licensed Plumber will thoroughly inspect these lines, checking for age, clogging or corrosion, tree roots, excess sludge, etc...

Proper plumbing maintenance can extend the life of your water heater, faucets and plumbing fixtures while identifying potential problems and preventing expensive repairs. With preventive measures you will have fewer toilet, sink and other plumbing clogs.

DIY - Phoenix Shower Plumbing Common Complaint: Squealing Shower

Phoenix shower plumbing
Phoenix shower plumbing
Squealing pipes are a common Phoenix shower plumbing call from homeowners. The squeal is mostly caused by water suddenly trying to flow through a tighter space, going from a wide pipe to something constricted. In Arizona, with our hard water, squealing showers are mostly caused by mineral deposits or sediment can build up in the shower head. This blocks the exit ports and results in that loud whine.

If mineral deposits are the cause of the squeal, cleaning out the blockages in the shower head will solve the problem:

  • Turn the shower head counterclockwise to dislodge it from the shower arm.
  • Check the shower head for white material (mineral deposits) or tiny dark grains of sediment.
  • Soak the shower head in a container of vinegar for 1 hour to loosen mineral deposits.
  • Use a toothpick or nail to gently push any grains of sediment from the shower head.
  • Rinse the shower head beneath a powerful spray of water.

Attach the shower head back on the shower arm and turn on the water. If the squealing noise persists, then mineral deposits are likely not the cause. Squealing showers are noisy and inconvenient. Following these simple directions above can help you eliminate this common Phoenix shower plumbing issue. If you are still seeing issues with your shower, be sure to call AC by J's expert Plumbers.
